International Skilled Worker: Occupation In-Demand
What is this program?
The Saskatchewan International Skilled Worker — Occupation In-Demand stream is for workers in occupations Saskatchewan specifically needs but where you don't have a job offer yet. Unlike the Employment Offer stream, you can apply on the strength of your experience alone — provided your occupation is on SK's in-demand list. Each year SK publishes which NOC codes are eligible; the list shifts based on labour market needs.
Who is it for?
- You don't have a Canadian job offer, but your occupation is on SK's in-demand list
- You have at least 1 year of work experience in the in-demand occupation in the last 10 years
- Your language ability is at CLB 4 minimum
- You can score 60+ on the SINP point assessment grid
- You intend to live and work in Saskatchewan
What does it lead to?
Provincial nomination from Saskatchewan, then permanent residence via a federal application. The federal step after nomination currently takes about 13 months (IRCC's estimate); Saskatchewan's own step comes first. The strength of this stream is that you don't need a job offer — but the eligibility window depends entirely on whether your occupation is currently in-demand in SK.
Primary requirements
- Your intended occupation is on Saskatchewan's current in-demand NOC list (the list changes — check the source page).
- 1 year (1,560 hours) of paid work experience in that occupation within the last 10 years.
- Language ability at CLB 4 minimum, less than 2 years old.
- Score at least 60 of 100 points on the SINP point assessment grid.
- Eligible for Saskatchewan licensing if the occupation is regulated.
- ECA for any foreign degree.
- $500 non-refundable application fee.

- Language test results within 2 years
- Educational credentials + ECA report
- Proof of intent to live in Saskatchewan (settlement plan, family ties, prior visits, etc.)
