Tech (Vancouver + Victoria)
Vancouver is one of Canada's three largest tech hubs alongside Toronto and Waterloo — Amazon, Microsoft, EA, Hootsuite, Lululemon, and a growing AI / fintech cluster all recruit here. Victoria's tech sector is smaller but punches above its weight (Tesla, Latitude Geographics, Echosec). BC PNP Skilled Worker sub-pathway is the standard provincial route for tech.
Health and life sciences (province-wide)
BC PNP runs a dedicated Health Authority sub-pathway — direct nomination if you have an offer from a BC health authority in an eligible occupation. This is one of the most nurse-specific PNP pathways in Canada alongside Alberta's Dedicated Health Care Pathway. Life-sciences cluster around UBC and Vancouver's biotech corridor (StemCell, Zymeworks, AbCellera).
Film, video games, and creative industries
Vancouver is the third-largest film production centre in North America (after LA and NYC) and Canada's largest video games hub by employment. Creative-industries workers in animation, VFX, game development, and post-production qualify under BC PNP Skilled Worker.
Natural resources and trades (BC Interior + North)
Forestry, mining, and natural-resource industries drive demand for skilled trades and engineers across the BC Interior and the North. The Skilled Worker sub-pathway covers TEER 0-3 trade and technical occupations province-wide.

How many BC PNP streams are there now?+
One worker program with two sub-pathways: Skilled Worker (any TEER 0-3 BC employer) and Health Authority (BC health authority occupations). Each has an Express Entry BC (EEBC) option for federal EE alignment + 600 CRS. BC also has separate Entrepreneur Immigration pathways we don't cover here (business-class applicants).
What does Express Entry BC (EEBC) do?+
If you're in the federal Express Entry pool AND qualify for a BC PNP Skilled Worker or Health Authority stream, you can choose the EEBC option when registering. If nominated, your federal EE profile receives +600 CRS — effectively guaranteeing a federal Invitation to Apply in the next round. Without EEBC, you file a separate federal PR application after nomination.
How does BC PNP scoring work?+
BC uses a points-based Expression of Interest pool. Your registration is scored on human capital factors (work experience, education, language) and economic factors (wage offered, where in BC the job is — points for offers outside Metro Vancouver). The pool is competitive — high scores get invited; low scores wait or don't get invited at all. Your registration is active for 12 months.
