BC PNP Health Authority

Page last edited: May 13, 2026·Official source

What is this program?

The BC PNP Health Authority stream is BC's dedicated PNP pathway for health-care workers with an offer from a BC health authority — Fraser Health, Vancouver Coastal, Interior Health, Island Health, or Northern Health. The eligible-occupation list is specific (RNs and RPNs, allied health, medical lab tech, physician assistants, etc.); the employer must be one of the health authorities. Like the Skilled Worker stream, an Express Entry BC (EEBC) option pairs it with federal EE for a 600 CRS boost on nomination.

Who is it for?

  • You have a permanent full-time job offer from a BC health authority (Fraser Health, Vancouver Coastal, Interior Health, Island Health, or Northern Health)
  • Your occupation is on the BC Health Authority eligible-occupation list (nursing, allied health, etc.)
  • Your language ability is CLB 4+ in all 4 abilities
  • You meet the health authority's specific work-experience and credential requirements
  • You hold the provincial licensure required to practise (e.g., BCCNM registration for nurses)

What does it lead to?

Provincial nomination from British Columbia tied to the offering health authority. With EEBC: +600 federal CRS, fast invitation. Without: separate federal PR application. One of the two strongest single-occupation PNP routes in Canada for nurses, alongside Alberta's Dedicated Health Care Pathway.

Primary requirements

  • Permanent full-time indeterminate job offer from a BC health authority employer.
  • Occupation on the BC Health Authority eligible-occupation list (BC publishes this; confirm with the health authority).
  • Work experience as required by BC PNP + the offering health authority.
  • Minimum education credential as required by the health authority employer.
  • Provincial regulatory licensure where required (BCCNM for nurses, etc.).
  • Language: CLB 4+ in all 4 abilities (often higher in practice for clinical roles).
  • Wage meets BC regional minimum + income thresholds.
  • Employer support: completed Employer Declaration Form from authorized personnel.
  • BC PNP Online User Portal registration; 30 days to apply after invitation.

  • Reference letters covering qualifying clinical / health-care experience
  • Education credentials + ECA for foreign degrees
