What is this program?
The PEI Skilled Workers in PEI stream is for foreign workers already working in PEI on a valid work permit who have a permanent PEI job offer. The current intake prioritizes high-demand sectors — healthcare, trades, and childcare — over sales and service. The 2-year work experience requirement looks across the past 5 years, not just at your PEI employment.
Who is it for?
- You're currently working in PEI on a valid Canadian work permit
- You have a permanent full-time PEI job offer (≥30 hr/wk)
- Your job is in a priority / high-demand sector (healthcare, trades, childcare)
- You have 2+ years of full-time work experience in the past 5 years
- You have a post-secondary degree (2-year minimum)
What does it lead to?
Provincial nomination from PEI tied to your PEI employer; separate federal PR application follows. PEI has lower nomination volumes than larger provinces — sales/service workers are noted as less likely to receive invitations under current priorities.
Primary requirements
- Full-time non-seasonal job offer from a PEI employer.
- Currently working in PEI on a valid Canadian work permit.
- 2+ years of full-time work experience in the past 5 years.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma — minimum 2-year program.
- Age 18–59.
- CLB/NCLC 4+ (or employer attestation for TEER 0–3).
- Sufficient settlement funds.
- Employment in a priority / high-demand sector improves invitation odds.
