New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream
What is this program?
The NBPNP Skilled Worker Stream is New Brunswick's main PNP route for workers with a permanent full-time NB job offer. Two sub-pathways on the same source page: NB Experience (for workers already in NB with 6+ months of employment and 6+ months of NB residency) and NB Graduates (for NB DLI graduates with an NB job offer). The minimum age is 19; CLB 4 in all four abilities is the language floor for general positions.
Who is it for?
- You have a permanent full-time job offer from a New Brunswick employer (≥30 hr/wk)
- You're at least 19 years old
- Your language ability is CLB 4+ (some TEER 0–3 positions exempt from this floor)
- You have at least a high school diploma (foreign equivalent assessed via ECA)
- You intend to live and work in New Brunswick permanently
What does it lead to?
Provincial nomination from New Brunswick; separate federal PR application follows. The federal step after nomination currently takes about 13 months (about 6 via Express Entry); New Brunswick does not publish times for its own step. NB has chronic labour shortages, so it actively recruits in its priority occupations.
Primary requirements
- Permanent full-time non-seasonal job offer from an eligible New Brunswick employer.
- NB Experience sub-pathway: currently working full-time for the supporting employer + 6 months of NB residency + 6 months of NB employment.
- NB Graduates sub-pathway: completed a PGWP-eligible program at a New Brunswick DLI.
- At least 19 years old.
- Minimum CLB 4 in all four language abilities (with exemptions for some TEER 0–3 positions).
- Education level meets the NOC requirements for the offered position.
- Canadian high school diploma or foreign equivalent (ECA required for foreign credentials).
- Not currently enrolled in Canadian post-secondary education.
