New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot
What is this program?
The NBPNP Critical Worker Pilot is an employer-driven pilot for critical-need TEER 4/5 occupations in New Brunswick. The headline gate is that your employer must be a designated participating NB employer — a small list of NB businesses with active labour shortages. Without that designation, you can't apply through this pathway. Designed for TEER 4/5 roles (typically excluded from federal EE) in sectors like food processing, accommodation, and construction support.

- Your occupation is a TEER 4/5 critical-need role
- You're not pursuing the role remotely (must be physically in NB)
- You intend to live and work in NB permanently
- You have a valid language test (< 2 years old)
What does it lead to?
Provincial nomination from NB tied to your participating employer; separate federal PR application follows. CAD $250 NBPNP processing fee. ITAs must be acted on within 45 calendar days.
Primary requirements
- Genuine full-time permanent job offer from a designated participating NB employer (this is the gate — most NB employers are NOT participating).
- Competitive wage meeting NB Employment Standards Act minimums.
- Not a remote-work arrangement; position must be physically in New Brunswick.
- Provincial licensure where the occupation is regulated.
- PR-ready: valid passport and supporting documents.
- Language test < 2 years old (scoring is part of the NBPNP grid).
- Education and work experience contribute to the NBPNP grid score.
- Employer must complete and sign NBPNP-004 Employer Information form.
