Graduate Internship Pathway
What is this program?
The Graduate Internship Pathway is the MPNP's pathway for master's and doctoral graduates of Manitoba universities who completed a Mitacs Elevate or Mitacs Accelerate internship. Critically — no job offer is required. The Mitacs internship is the defining gate. You must be residing in Manitoba and have CLB 7+ language proficiency. Smaller applicant pool than the Career Employment Pathway, but a meaningful route for academic / research-track graduates.
Who is it for?
- You completed a master's or doctoral degree at a Manitoba university within the last 3 years
- You completed a Mitacs Elevate or Mitacs Accelerate internship in Manitoba
- You're currently residing in Manitoba
- You have CLB 7+ language proficiency
- You intend to stay in Manitoba
What does it lead to?
Provincial nomination from Manitoba; separate federal PR application follows. Manitoba's own step currently runs more than 6 months (its official notice); the federal step after nomination currently takes about 13 months. Lower competition than the Career Employment Pathway because the eligible candidate pool is small (master's/doctoral grads with completed Mitacs internships), but very strong fit if you qualify.
