NLPNP Express Entry – Skilled Worker Category
What is this program?
The NLPNP Express Entry Skilled Worker Category is for federal EE candidates with an NL job offer in a TEER 0-3 occupation. Provincial nomination adds +600 CRS to your federal EE profile — effectively guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply in the next federal round. You also need 67+ on the NLPNP Point Assessment Grid (separate from federal CRS).

- Your language ability meets the federal EE floor (typically CLB 7 for CEC / FSW)

What does it lead to?
Provincial nomination plus +600 CRS on your federal EE profile. After nomination, the federal Express Entry step currently takes about 6 months (IRCC's estimate); Newfoundland's own step comes first (its Feb 2025 advisory says decisions may take three months or more). NLPNP application fees apply separately from federal fees.
Primary requirements
- Active Express Entry profile registered with IRCC.
- Full-time NL job offer in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation.
- Job meets NL employment standards + prevailing-wage rates.
- Compensation is salary or hourly wage.
- Employer holds JVA / LMIA, or applicant has valid work permit.
- Canadian post-secondary credential OR foreign credential with valid ECA.
- Score at least 67 of 100 on NLPNP Point Assessment Grid.
- Age 21–59.
- Valid language test meeting federal EE thresholds.
- Sufficient settlement funds and ≤10% ownership stake in the employer.
