OINP Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream
Ontario closed this stream to new applicants on June 26, 2026, as part of a redesign of its immigration program. What is this program?
OINP Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream is for people offered a job in occupations Ontario specifically can't fill — agricultural workers, personal support workers, construction labourers, truck drivers, and similar TEER 4 or 5 jobs. Most other Ontario streams require TEER 0-3 (skilled professionals). This is the exception: it opens PR to people doing essential work in sectors with chronic shortages.
Who is it for?
- You have a permanent, full-time job offer in Ontario in an eligible TEER 4 or 5 occupation (agriculture, construction, personal support work, transport, food processing)
- You have at least 9 months of authorised work experience in Ontario in the same occupation within the last 3 years
- Your language is at CLB 4 or higher
- You meet the minimum education requirement (Canadian high school or equivalent)
What does it lead to?
Provincial nomination → permanent residence via a federal application. The federal step after nomination currently takes about 13 months (IRCC's estimate) — Ontario's own step comes first.
Primary requirements
- Permanent, full-time job offer in an eligible NOC TEER 4 or 5 occupation in Ontario.
- 9 months (or 1,560 hours) of paid, full-time work experience in Ontario in the same NOC within the last 3 years.
- Language: CLB 4 in all four abilities.
- Canadian high school diploma or foreign equivalent (with ECA).
- Currently legally in Ontario and authorised to work.
