Francophone Stream
What is this program?
The NWT Nominee Program Francophone Stream is for bilingual French and English speakers with a permanent NWT job offer in any TEER category (0–5). It's the most flexible of NWT's streams in terms of NOC eligibility — any TEER works — but requires demonstrated bilingual proficiency. Like other NTNP streams, it's currently subject to the 300-nomination 2025 federal cap; the 2026 intake reopens.

- You speak both French and English at CLB 4+ in all 4 abilities
- You have a permanent full-time NWT job offer in any TEER category (0–5)
- You intend to live and work in NWT permanently
What does it lead to?
Provincial nomination from NWT tied to your NWT employer. Distinct from other NTNP streams in that any TEER level is eligible — meaningful for francophone workers in entry-level roles.
Primary requirements
- French at CLB 4+ in all 4 abilities (TEF Canada or TCF Canada).
- English at CLB 4+ in all 4 abilities (IELTS, CELPIP, or PTE Core).
- Valid permanent full-time NWT job offer.
- Any TEER category eligible (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5).
What you'll need to apply
- Valid passport
- French language test (TEF Canada or TCF Canada, CLB 4+, within 2 years)
- English language test (IELTS / CELPIP / PTE Core, CLB 4+, within 2 years)
- Full-time NWT job offer letter
- Reference letters covering qualifying work experience
