What is this program?
The Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry stream is for federal EE candidates with at least 1 year of NS work experience (TEER 0–3). Two sub-pathways: Skilled Work Experience in Nova Scotia (the general path), and Physicians (NSHA / IWK approved opportunity required, plus a Return for Service Agreement committing to live and work in NS for 2+ years). Provincial nomination adds the standard +600 CRS to your federal Express Entry profile.

- You have an active federal Express Entry profile
- Your language is CLB 7+ (TEER 0/1) or CLB 5+ (TEER 2/3)
- You are between 21 and 55 years old
- You intend to settle permanently in Nova Scotia
What does it lead to?
Provincial nomination from Nova Scotia; your federal Express Entry CRS is boosted by +600 (effectively guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply). After nomination, the federal Express Entry step currently takes about 6 months (IRCC's estimate); Nova Scotia's own evaluation can take 3 months or more (its official guide).
Primary requirements
- Active Express Entry profile registered with IRCC.
- 1+ year of NS work experience in a TEER 0–3 occupation.
- If your work experience was on a PGWP: you must have graduated from a Nova Scotia DLI.
- Age 21–55.
- Canadian high-school equivalent education minimum.
- Language: CLB 7+ for TEER 0/1 work, CLB 5+ for TEER 2/3 work.
- Physicians sub-pathway: NSHA / IWK approved opportunity + Return for Service Agreement (2+ years) + Letter of Interest from NSNP + EOI submitted within 30 days of LOI.
- Apply to IRCC for PR within 12 months of the NSNP nominee certificate.
